I’m taking the Challenge – CancerCare Manitoba's 2012 Challenge for Life –
Ours is a story that happens to other families not to us. Someone complains of breathing problems, they think it's asthma, then pnueamonia, but its cancer and by then it's too late. My wife Elana was 40 years old and didn't have a chance to fight. She passed away 2 weeks after finally being diagnosed and they were still unable to identify the root but it spread to her lungs and liver. Her lungs and heart were filling with liquid at a rapid pace...too quick for her body to handle, and on April 26, 2010 we lost her.
I lost my best friend, and the world lost a great spirit. Elana did so much for the Winnipeg Community which was evident by 900+ people that attended her funeral.
Then a mere 7 months later my Dad at the age of 90 years old succombed to 3 forms of Cancer!
My family and I are still trying to absorb the lessons from this. I know that when I get caught up in lifes frivolous tribulations I think of my wife, my Dad and I take a step back.
Can we beat Cancer?..Let's keep trying..Let's WALK the TALK!

CancerCare Manitoba is the provincially mandated cancer agency for all of Manitoba, charged with the responsibility for cancer prevention, detection, treatment, research and education. CancerCare Manitoba is dedicated to excellence in cancer care, to enhancing the quality of life for those diagnosed and living with cancer and blood disorders and to improving the control of cancer for all Manitobans.
Our goal is to prevent every cancer we can; those we cannot prevent we strive to detect early and those we do not detect early, we treat with the best available options. CancerCare Manitoba is committed to continuous learning and improvement through world-class research.
By participating in this 5th Annual “Made-in-Manitoba” event, I have committed to help reduce my own risk of cancer by taking steps to improve my overall health. I am also committing to raise at least $15,000 to support CancerCare Manitoba - and all those who cannot walk.
As well, with the help of my clients I have contributed over $8,500.00 to CancerCare "Vehicle sales in Memory of Elana (Dil) Palay". This will continue to grow as I contribute $50.00 per vehicle that I sell!
Join me in the Challenge by supporting me with a donation. We'll do it together.... because we can!
